The High Cost of Fat

By the year 2025, 40-45% of the US adult population will be obese. It is estimated that about 60% of Americans are overweight. More than 300,000 deaths per year in the US are associated with excess body fat. Direct economic costs of obesity in the US were $52 billion in 1995 and now exceed $147 billion. These costs do not include any associated chronic diseases like diabetes and heart disease.

Nine percent of all medical costs in the U.S. are due to obesity.

Over 50 billion dollars more is spent on obesity than on cancer.

Lost productivity costs associated with obesity in 1994 were estimated at $3.9 billion and included more than 39 million days of lost work.

Obesity leads to a state of inflammation and this pro-inflammatory state contributes to the following chronic conditions:

Heart Disease

Systemic Inflammation

Stroke

Diabetes, Type II

Metabolic Syndrome

Impaired Immunity

Cancer

Depression and Fatigue

Fatty Liver

Gallbladder Disease

Sleep Apnea/Insomnia

Gout

Musculoskeletal Pain

Polycystic Ovarian Disease

Extensive research reveals that fat cells have an elaborate secretory vocabulary that promotes cellular communication between fat cells, organs and the brain. Adipose or fat tissue releases more than 20 substances into circulation. This networked communication creates a vascular and metabolic network which can lead to cancer.

Second Nature has launched a unique weight loss program that addresses the underlying causes of weight gain and retention. Food allergies, low thyroid function, viruses, bowel imbalances, thought patterns, chronic stress, sleep debt and heavy metal toxicity all contribute to the inability to lose weight.

Our program introduces a different paradigm. We work to understand why your body struggles to maintain a specific desired weight. There is always a reason(s) why a body sustains body fat accumulation.

Second Nature’s weight loss program is not a diet. It is a plan that supports your mental and physical health so that you can achieve your optimum potential. We identify, analyze and resolve individual barriers to weight loss.

The program includes:

A pre and post consult with Dr. Guggenheim, 4 weeks of group meetings, metabolic burning supplements, delicious nutritious meal plans that foster a healthy relationship with food, exercise plans, weekly colon cleansing and tremendous support during your transformation. Successful weight loss programs require a comprehensive integrated medical approach.

If you are tired of dieting or throwing away money on expensive supplements that do not address the whole picture then our transformational program is for you. You will learn new thinking patterns and choices that empower your body and mind for life.

Look for our next post with a great interview with Dr. David Kessler, former FDA head, and his take on how the fast food industry has manipulated your taste buds for food addiction.
